Picking an electric ride-on car isn't just about which model looks coolest — it's about matching the size, power, and features to your child. Freddo Toys builds ride-ons across several voltage tiers, and while voltage gives you a general sense of scale and power, the exact top speed, age range, and features always come down to the specific model — not the voltage number alone. Here's how to shop by tier, with real verified specs.
Quick Reference: What Each Voltage Tier Generally Means
| Voltage | General Use |
|---|---|
| 12V | Entry-level cars — a great first ride-on |
| 24V | Our most popular tier — the widest variety of styles |
| 48V | Bigger builds — 2-seater UTVs and multi-rider vehicles |
Always check the individual product's spec sheet for exact speed, age range, and weight limit — these vary by model, not just by voltage tier.
12V: A Great First Ride-On
Our 12V lineup is built for kids just starting out — lower speeds, simple two-speed controls, and Parental Remote Control so you stay in charge while they learn.
- 12V Chevrolet Corvette C8 1-Seater — ages 3-8, top speed 2.49 mph, 66 lb weight limit, Parental Remote Control included.
- 12V Porsche Carrera GT 1-Seater — ages 3-6, top speed 5 mph, 66 lb weight limit, Parental Remote Control included.
- 12V CAT Electric Dump Truck — designed for ages 3 to 6, Parental Remote Control included.
Notice the top speed alone ranges from 2.49 to 5 mph within this single tier — another reason to check the exact model before buying.
24V: Our Most Popular Tier
24V is where most Freddo families land — more variety, licensed designs, and enough power for grass, dirt, and light off-roading. All three models below are built for ages 3-8 and include Parental Remote Control, but top speed and weight limit still vary model to model.
- Officially Licensed Ford F-150 2-Seater — ages 3-8, top speed 5 mph, 130 lb weight limit, ~60 min run time.
- Can-Am Maverick 1-Seater UTV — ages 3-8, top speed 4.97 mph, 66 lb weight limit, ~50 min run time.
- Mercedes G63 AMG 2-Seater — ages 3-8, top speed 3.1 mph, 130 lb weight limit, ~45 min run time.

48V: Built for Bigger Rides
48V (two 24V batteries working together) is what Freddo uses for vehicles that need to carry more weight or run longer — like 2-seater UTVs. It's about capacity, not necessarily a higher top speed.
- Can-Am Maverick 2-Seater UTV — ages 3-8, top speed 4.97 mph (the same as its 24V 1-seater sibling), 110 lb weight limit, ~80 min run time, Parental Remote Control included.
Note: we also carry the 48V Freddo Beast XL, our largest dune buggy — but it's positioned for older/teen riders rather than the 3-10 age range this guide covers, so we left it out here. Check its product page directly if you're shopping for an older child.
A Few Buying Tips
- Always check the spec sheet on the exact model — top speed, weight limit, and Parental Remote Control availability vary by model, not just by voltage.
- Rubber (EVA) tires are standard across the Freddo lineup for a smooth, quiet ride on grass, gravel, and pavement.
- Battery care matters — see our Battery Guide to get the most runtime out of every charge.
